Jennifer Aniston is breaking the mould in new film

Jennifer Aniston found new role “liberating”

The 45-year-old actress, who is known for films like We’re the Millers and Office Space as well as the long-running television series Friends, took on a very different and “liberating” role in the film Cake. The star plays Claire Simmons, who is dealing with chronic pain, depression and addiction. The role meant no makeup and unkempt hair for the beauty known for her style. "It's awesome and liberating to let that all go," she told People Magazine. "And see yourself looking like that on a 50-foot screen."

The film, which also features Anna Kendrick and Britt Robertson, is set for release in the US in 2015. Jennifer apparently got into character in more ways than one. The actress wore a back brace in the film that apparently caused her pain.

"But I'm back now – it took awhile,” she told People.

Later this year will see the release of Horrible Bosses 2, the sequel to the 2011 film in which Jennifer plays a highly sexed dentist.

Jennifer recently opened up about her love of acting, even if it means starring in a “graveyard of sitcoms”.

"Ever since I was at the High School of Performing Arts in New York and my Russian acting coach told me I was a disgrace to the Moscow theatre, I really wanted to do good work; I was determined to prove him wrong," she told British magazine Hello! earlier this year. "Before the phenomenal success of Friends, I worked in a graveyard of sitcoms. I was just happy to get a job, whether the series made it to air or not."
