"Justin's used to living in a small town and says he had a great childhood because of it," a source divulged to the American addition of OK! magazine.
"Jessica can't stand the obnoxious attitudes of kids in Hollywood. She wants her children to have good values and a sense of community."
Justin and Jessica started dating in 2007, briefly splitting four years later, before reconciling. The news of a baby has delighted fans of the showbiz couple, and the possibility of a move back home is also thought to have been met with excitement by 33-year-old Justin's loved ones.
"Being near Justin's family is ideal, because his mom, Lynn, is even more excited about this baby than they are - and Justin's grandmother Sadie is on cloud nine," the source continued.
The decision to move back to Tennessee is thought to be mutual, with Jessica, 32, also excited at the prospect of the family having a life away from Hollywood.
"Justin and Jessica want their kids to have a hometown and a family base, and they definitely don't want to raise them in Los Angeles," the insider said.
