Jimmy Carr's Reeva joke leaves audience cold

accreditation

While presenting the Xperia Access Q Awards, Jimmy Carr started a rambling joke about needing to use the bathroom and having to wait in a queue. This was his punchline: “So frustrating. All I’m saying is I can see it from Oscar Pistorius’ point of view.”

The audience -- which included the likes of which included Simple Minds, Johnny Marr, and Boy George  -- gasped, and he continued: “That’s not the controversial bit. Here it comes… I blame her.”

“If she hadn’t been in that disabled toilet none of this would have happened.”

Cue stunned silence. Jimmy then screamed, “It’s the f****** Q Awards, come on!”

Despite the media storm Jimmy stirred up with his tasteless joke, he doesn't seem ruffled. “I think it went all right," he told The Mirror's 3am. I’m going to go home and write some new jokes.”

Er... sounds like a good idea, Jimmy.
