The 75-year-old Monty Python legend is father to daughters Cynthia(43) and Camilla (30). And John is convinced he should’ve employed different parental tactics while they were growing up. “I think I got a lot of it wrong by not being firm enough,” he told British newspaper The Sun. “I would have been more useful to them if I’d risked being firmer on occasions and risked being unpopular.”

Camilla is a stand-up comic and Cynthia appeared in two of John’s legendary films, A Fish Called Wanda and Fierce Creatures.
And now that his youngest Camilla has adopted a career in comedy, their conversations have transformed.
“My daughter and I disagree with how you deal with audiences that are very, very ignorant,” John shared.
“When she gets up in Los Angeles to do stand-up, she has to make jokes about eating disorders, drugs, sex, celebrities, sport, TV.
“If she makes any reference to history they don’t know what she’s talking about.
“That means her reference for routines is very limited and I’m trying to encourage her to be a little riskier. It is also the reason I don’t bother making films any more — the ones that succeed are made for 19-year-old American boys and I’m not interested in entertaining them.
“They don’t know about things; you have to make jokes on a limited range of subjects.”
During the interview, the legend also revealed he finds great joy in spending time relaxing at home with his wife Jennifer Wade and their cats.
John is currently promoting his autobiography So, Anyway..., which he wrote in pencil in just four months.
