Kate worried William may miss birth

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge is allegedly worried Prince William will miss their baby's birth.

The 31-year-old royal is rumoured to be terrified her husband, William, may be away working as a Royal Air Force (RAF) search-and-rescue pilot in Anglesey, North Wales, when their first child arrives in July.

Despite planning to spend most of his time at Nottingham Cottage, the couple's home in the grounds of London's Kensington Palace, William's job is unpredictable and the humble heir has previously insisted he’d never ask for special treatment from the RAF.

A source told Now magazine, "Kate's worried he might not be around. She's feeling self-conscious because it's uncharted territory for both of them. It's an exciting and nervous time, but she knows that he'll do everything in his power not to let her down."

But William has reportedly asked if a helicopter can be on standby to whisk him back to London if the baby were to come while he's working away.

The 31-year-old dad-to-be is expected to be given a few weeks’ paternity leave once their child ? who will be third in line to the throne ? is born, but the time off will need to be approved by the UK Ministry of Defence.

An official from St James Palace recently confirmed, "It is likely that he will have a couple of weeks’ leave."
