Katherine Heigl: Shonda Rhimes feud sucks

accreditation

Katherine Heigl is upset Shonda Rhimes has a “crappy impression” of her. The Grey’s Anatomy creator slammed the actress in the Hollywood Reporter by saying her “no assholes” policy on Scandal meant she had “no Heigls” in her cast. And now the 35-year-old has revealed she’s upset by the negative feedback. “The last one with Shonda… it sucks,” Katherine told Mario Lopez on Extra TV.

'I wish her nothing but greatness, and I have nothing negative to say about Shonda'

The blonde beauty used to play Izzie on the hit ABC series, before leaving due to reported tension. Her former boss has all but confirmed such strain was attributable to Katherine’s difficult personality.

“I am sorry that she feels that way and I wish her nothing but greatness, and I have nothing negative to say about Shonda,” she went on. “I'm a big fan of her work. I watch Scandal every week, and so I'm sorry she's left with such a crappy impression of me. I wish I could do something to change that. Maybe I will be able to someday.”

The 44-year-old’s comments also included a declaration that she doesn’t have time for or “put up with bullsh*t or nasty people.” Apparently this sour impression is something Katherine has been battling for a while now.

“Yeah, that took some stomaching and having to just go, okay, there's nothing I can do about this except to sort of prove it wrong, you know,” she explained. “And the only way to prove it wrong is for people to have a work experience with me that doesn't speak to that at all.”

Katherine has obviously moved on from her Grey’s Anatomy split and is now starring in and producing State of Affairs. It seems her extra responsibility has also afforded her more time with her family.

“They're so good,” she said of her daughters Naleigh, five, and Adalaide, two. “This job has been such a blessing for me because I could dictate the schedule and say, look, I don't want to do a season of 22 or 24 episodes. I want to stick to 13 and have the rest of the year off to go home to my kids.”
