Katy Perry and Diplo ‘in lust, not love’

Katy Perry and DJ Diplo are reportedly “in lust with each other”. The 29-year-old singer and the 35-year-old musician were first rumoured to have hooked up at the Coachella Festival back in April. News of Katy and Diplo’s reported romance came just two months after the Roar singer split from on-off boyfriend of John Mayer. However, it doesn’t seem like she is rushing into another serious relationship.

'But they are very much in lust with each other right now and even working on some new music'

“When Katy and Diplo first hooked up, it was sort of pre-meditated,” a source told Radar Online. “But they are very much in lust with each other right now and even working on some new music, as he wants to help her rebrand her sound.”

Katy and John broke up in February, following allegations he had cheated on her. Since then, she has been keeping herself busy performing her Prismatic World Tour and reportedly doesn’t want to think about her future with Diplo, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, too much.

“Katy does want kids one day but definitely not right now,” the insider continued. “She thought that she was going to have kids with John, but that ended when she caught him cheating. They are just having a lot of fun right now, which is something that lacked in her previous relationship.”

Katy, who was married to British comedian Russell Brand for 14 months before they split in December 2011, recently opened up to Harper’s Bazaar about what she seeks in a relationship.

“As I'm heading into my 30s I have less time for bulls**t," she admitted. "I look for the same characteristics: a sense of humour - someone who makes me laugh off the charts - someone who is sensitive, someone who loves and understands music, and who is really smart."

Katy and Russell’s divorce was finalised in 2012.
