Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's $11 million (R110 million) home is still nowhere near complete.
The couple ? who welcomed their first child, North, in June ? had the Bel Air mansion gutted in a bid to create their dream family house, but it could take months before the lavish makeover is finished.
Despite buying the house brand new, Kim reportedly ran into problems with the electrical wiring, water and heating in the house.
The pair ? who were living with Kim's mother and manager, Kris Jenner, before renting another mansion while work continues on their estate ? have splashed out more than $1 million (R10 million) to furnish their luxury haven.
The Mediterranean-style mansion has reportedly been furnished with six special-edition beds costing £114 000 (R1,7 million) in addition to £500 000 (R7,5 million) worth of gold-plated toilets.
The spending doesn't stop there as the reality TV star and the rapper are also thought to be splashing out £500 000 (R1,7 million) on their kitchen, including a Swarovski-encrusted fridge freezer.
A source said, "They expect the interior to cost twice as much as the property. They're spending more than a million [dollars] on a security system alone.
Rapper Kanye moved out of his apartment in New York City to start family life with Kim and North in California.
