'I was unhappy with my body - I developed really early'
While her curves are admired the world over, the 34-year-old wasn't always so happy with her shape. However, some kind words from her late father changed everything.
"When I was 13 my father [Robert Kardashian] wrote me a letter. I was unhappy with my body - I developed really early," she admitted to the British edition of ELLE magazine.
"Every night I would sit in the bath and cry, I prayed my boobs would stop growing. He told me I had a body not many girls have, that later it would lead to attention from men, but that the most important thing was that I was a wonderful girl and I had to understand myself worth."
These days, mother-of-one Kim is happy to show off her shapely figure in skin-tight outfits, turning heads very recently when she wore a nude latex dress by Atsuko Kudo. She might not have a catwalk-model frame, but she's learnt to love who she is.
"I grew up when the body to have was the tall, slim, supermodel one, like Cindy Crawford’s. No one looked like me. It’s good to break the mould and recreate one," she smiled.
"It’s taken me a long time to be happy with my body and for my confidence to grow to what it is today."
Kim might look confident now, but she insists she wasn't born with such high self-esteem and that it "built over the years". And while doesn't bat an eye at risqué photoshoots, she was affected by private nude shots that were leaked onto the internet recently.
"I feel violated because these are private pictures. I didn’t choose for them to be out there," she sighed.
"But I’m also realistic. I’m on covers of magazines practically naked, so I can’t go crazy about it. The only choice I can make is to not let it shake me up. I’m not having that choice taken away from me."
