Lady Gaga isn't interested in fame.
The Applause singer ? who’s known for her bizarre outfits and outrageous hairstyles ? was forced to take time out of her busy schedule in February in order to have hip surgery, but she says the time away from work made her re-evaluate her priorities and allowed her to get her creative juices flowing once again.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said, "I really enjoyed the downtime because it rejuvenated my creativity and I figured out a lot about myself after the last few years.
"I realised I am not in it for the fame. I don't need to go out and be recognised to feel alive.
"I do miss being on stage and singing and dancing. I didn't miss getting dressed up."
The eccentric star ? who gave her first live rendition of her new single, Applause, at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City last week ? previously admitted she only feels truly alive when she’s performing in front of a crowd.
She said, "When I'm not on stage I don't feel alive. But when I hit the stage it's like everything that I'm thinking and feeling, where I belong ? that's where it is."
