Matt Damon's children can't wait to move to Los Angeles.

The 'Elysium' actor and his wife Luciana Barroso are planning to move from New York to the West Coast of America with their kids, Alexia, 14 - Luciana's daughter from a previous relationship - Isabella, six, Gia, four, and two-year-old Stella, and Matt says the girls can't wait to get there.

He told Us Weekly: "Our oldest one is excited. The younger ones, I think it's kind of hard for them to grasp it. That said, they're looking forward to a change of scenery. They'll have a yard, and they're really excited about that. That's not something you get [in New York City]."

While their kids are excited about their new home, Matt admitted he and Luciana have mixed feelings.

He explained: "Basically all of our friends with little kids are out there. We're a little conflicted. We love it here, we're really happy here and New York will always be here. It might just turn out to be a little jaunt out there and then a return.... It's hard to leave here."

Matt previously revealed he is relieved he fell for a "civilian" rather than another celebrity because he would hate to be part of a high profile couple.

Speaking about his marriage to former barmaid Luciana, he said: "I got lucky. I fell in love with a civilian. Not an actress and not a famous actress at that. Because then the attention doesn't double-it grows exponentially.

"I look at Brad Pitt - and I have for years-and when I'm with him I see the intensity of that other side of it. And the paparazzi and the insane level of aggression they have and their willingness to break the law and invade his space-well.

"I wonder about that trade. I remember telling him that I walk my kids to school, and his face just fell.
