Medical Aids told: Cough up, please


You've paid your premiums for years but every year you seem to have to cough up more for fewer benefits. Yet you must have medical aid because what would happen if you became seriously ill and you weren’t ­covered?

But now cash-strapped medical aid members could have the last laugh because a recent court ruling is likely to compel schemes to pay all members in full if they have one of almost 300 serious conditions listed.
