Miley’s spotlight strategy

accreditation

“YOU’RE always going to make people talk, you might as well make them talk for two weeks instead of two seconds.” Miley Cyrus seems to have her public relations strategy down pat.

The former Disney princess who found fame as apple-cheeked Hannah Montana, much loved by little girls the world over, speaks about her new risqué image in a documentary called Miley: The Movement, which will air on MTV in the US tonight and on DStv’s MTV (channel 130) tomorrow night at 8.30pm.

Miley raised eyebrows with her onstage antics at the VMA awards in August when she danced suggestively, rubbing up against Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke.

The trailer for the doccie shows backstage footage from before her VMA performance, as well as Cyrus joking with album producer and rumoured boyfriend Mike Will Made It and chatting to Britney Spears in the studio. Spears is collaborating on the song SMS, a track from Miley’s new album Bangerz.

Those hoping to get some insight into her troubled love-life might be disappointed. The trailer makes no mention of her breakup with Australian actor and ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

Miley: The Movement is set to air in South African on 3 October, MTV (DSTV Channel 130) at 20:30.
