We arrived on the 24th and the whole city was decorated with Christmas lights - and on Christmas morning it started snowing just as we were heading for breakfast. I enjoyed the markets a lot as they serve the freshest and most delicious German food and “Gluhwein mit schuss”, which is warm mulled wine with a tot of any shooter - a perfect way to survive the icy cold weather."

"I'm very selfish about my time with my immediate family so my favourite has to be any Christmas where we decide it's just going to be us - we'd invite relatives over another day! We had one of those in 2015. We went to church, opened gifts and then had a delicious meal. I don't cook but I always help with the chopping and I love washing dishes so that's always my responsibility. We also shared our favourite family moments and played charades and 30 Seconds, which my dad hates. But he really doesn't have a choice!"
