
LEMON
Beauty property: brightens skin
Use as: cleansing milk
Ingredients
- 125 ml (½ c) plain yoghurt
- 15 ml (1 T) sunflower oil
- 20 ml (4 t) fresh lemon juice
- Mix all the ingredients together. Store in a bottle in the fridge.
- Place a small amount in your hand. Gently massage into your face. Rinse off with tepid water and pat dry with a towel.
CUCUMBER
Beauty properties: anti-inflammatory, moisture-regulating, soothing and cooling
Use as: soothing eye treatment
Ingredients
- 15 ml (1 T) aloe vera gel (from health stores and selected pharmacies)
- 10 ml (2 t) cucumber, peeled and seeds removed
- 3 ml (½ t) honey
- 3 ml (½ t) rooibos tea, brewed and cooled
Instructions
- Blend the aloe vera gel, cucumber and honey in a blender.
- Add the tea and blend.
- Put it in the fridge in an airtight container for about half an hour before use. Store in the fridge for no longer than a week.
- Gently apply the mixture under clean eyes with your ring finger.
KIWI FRUIT
Beauty properties: exfoliating and hydrating
Use as: body and face mask
Ingredients
- 125 ml (½ c) plain yoghurt
- 5 ml (1 t) honey
- 15 ml (1 T) olive oil
- 1 kiwi fruit, peeled and mashed
- Mix the ingredients in a blender.
- Apply to clean skin, leave on for 10 minutes and rinse. Store any leftover product in the fridge and use within 24 hours.
PAPAYA
Beauty properties: softens and dissolves dead skin
Use as: face exfoliator
Ingredients
- 5 ml (1 t) Bulgarian yoghurt
- 3 ml (½ t) honey
- 1 egg white to bind
- 1-2 slices of mashed papaya
- 3 ml (½ t) poppy and sesame seeds
- Mix the yoghurt, honey and egg white together to form a sticky paste. Add the papaya and seeds, and blend.
- Rub onto a cleansed face in a circular motion. Rinse off with cold water.
