Nick Cannon staying positive

accreditation

Nick Cannon is trying to remain positive after his split from Mariah Carey. The America’s Got Talent host and Mariah confirmed in August that they had ended their relationship after six years of marriage.

'I try to wake up and take each day with a grain of salt'

And while the break-up marks a new phase in Nick’s life, he says he is doing his best to see the silver lining.

“Ultimately I would think that is what life is all about, to try to pursue happiness, and I try to wake up and take each day with a grain of salt, and say, 'How can I be happy today? How can I affect someone else's day, and hopefully make them happy?' '" Nick told People.com.

The musician turned presenter has two children, three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, with Mariah. And Nick said that the split from his former wife hasn’t stopped him wanting to achieve his “lifelong goal” – making the world a happier place.

"That's why we all entertain, to put a smile on others' faces," Nick said while at the Samsung DSLR Ditch Day in Los Angeles on Tuesday. "I take that as a lifelong goal, but still, at the same time, take it one day at a time."

It was recently reported that Nick is keen to keep things good natured, for the sake of the twins.

"Ideally Nick would like the divorce to be sorted sooner rather than later, but with Mariah disagreeing with his suggestions on how they can split amicably, it doesn't look likely," a source told British magazine Closer.
