On the mend! Freddie Prinze Jr's spinal recovery

Freddie Prinze Jr. is working on being “healthy” again.

The 38-year-old Scooby-Doo star had spinal surgery last week, and has been keeping his fans updated on his recovery via Twitter ever since. On Friday, he shared an encouraging message about how Brazilian jiu-jitsu was helping him get better.

Clearly feeling inspired after a session, Freddie uploaded an image of himself in what appeared to be a gym. “#Graciejiujitsu Mental training. Visualize your technique. Then when youre healthy, you dont have to think anymore [sic],” he wrote in the caption.

The picture showed the taped and stitched up scar on his neck, still not quite healed from his procedure.

He didn’t end his fitness efforts there, however, apparently also going for a three mile run on the same day according to his feed.

Having obviously spent his week on the road to recovery, on Monday he revealed he’s having to learn the art of walking all over again. “Learnin to walk again is like learning jiu-jitsu - 1 technique at a time [sic],” Freddie shared on the social networking site.

He sported a neck brace and a happy grin, clearly looking on the bright side of life in spite of his affliction.

The star broke the news of his impending trip to the hospital on November 20. “Samurai, Jedi, Gamers if all agesI gots nuthin but love for you. Spine surgery this morning but now ur homie is ... Robo-Bro! Bionic pic inc [sic],” the actor wrote on Twitter.

Freddie’s actress wife Sarah Michelle Gellar was no doubt on hand helping him get back to health. The couple have been married for 12 years, after meeting on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer back in 1997.
