Oscar case: Cop allegedly faces shooting charges

According to reports by Eyewitness News the investigating officer in Oscar Pistorius’ criminal case, Hilton Botha, allegedly faces seven counts of attempted murder.

The charges are related to a shooting incident which occurred while four policemen, including Botha, were allegedly drunk.

Despite this, police management intend keeping him on the high-profile Pistorius investigation.

According to Botha the attempted murder charges against him stem from his pursuit of a murder suspect, News24 reported.

He told eNCA that the incident was as a result of his investigation into the murder of Denise Stratford, whose body was stuffed into a drain.

“My blood was never tested for alcohol in the aftermath of the shooting. I wasn't drunk,” Botha said.
