Pearl Thusi basically killed it in her debut episode of US hit-series Quantico

Priyanka Chopra who?

Human rights lawyer turned CIA recruit Dayana Mampasi had us captivated in the season two premiere of thrilling US TV series Quantico.

And we're not just saying that because the beautifully bad-ass character is played by South Africa's very own Pearl Thusi.

The local beauty wowed in her international breakout role on season two of the hit drama series, which aired on M-Net’s Vuzu Amp (DStv channel 103) last night.

Pearl's character Dayana is an accomplished human rights lawyer who came to America as a teenager and has now been recruited by the CIA. Viewers are introduced to her character on the mysterious CIA training facility known as The Farm.

The character is described by the Quantico Wikia as a "driven, disciplined, type-A lawyer working at her parents' Boston firm who struggles to fit in".

Pearl stars alongside Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra, who plays protagonist Alex Parrish, an axed FBI agent who later joins the CIA – and Dayana's roommate. Rocking crop tops and performing some fierce fighting moves, Pearl is flawless next to her world-famous co-star. “Career #gains are also important,” Pearl wrote on Instagram two days ago. “I’ll be flexing on Sunday on ABC (I still can’t believe this is real)... Africa –  we’re on Monday on @vuzutv… so watch if you’re not hating. Actually watch either way – haters are always the most knowledgeable about your career. And yes, my tummy looks better now. I was bloated and jet lagged OK. Either way – I’m flexing my blessing from God.”

While some other local celebs took to social media to express their pride and excitement for their girl, it looks like the Americans are loving her too! Pearl pops up in plenty of teaser clips and photos released by the ABC channel.

Have a listen to Pearl's thoughts on the experience so far:

We'll be glued to our seats for episode two, Pearl!
