Having done tattoo work for the likes of 5fm DJ, DJ Fresh as well as Parlotones front man, Kahn Morbee, Parkhurst tattoo parlour, Fallen Heroes have upped their game by opening a one-of-a-kind art gallery, showcasing some of the original works of their tattoo artists now done on canvas instead of ink. Owner at the Fallen Heroes, Jen Uys, says that the launch of the gallery, which took place last week Saturday and will be running for three months was bound to happen and just forms as part of the natural progression of the Fallen Heroes. "We want to show people that the work that our artist do are more than just pretty pictures on skin," says Jen.
"All our artists, essentially, are born artists, even more than they are tattoo artists and we wanted to showcase that."

The gallery features works done by the seven different artist currently working at Fallen Heroes and features various techniques from airbrushing to drawn pieces and more geometric pieces.
The artists have even worked together on a collaborative piece which went on auction on the night of the event.
"We are accentuating the style and talent of these tattoo artist, just now on a whole different medium." adds Jen.
Currently, the Fallen Heroes gallery showcases the original works of their artists but the store is looking to expand the gallery with works from other artists. The gallery will run for three months. PHOTO: Fani Mahutsi
All the works in the gallery are original pieces and are for sale They are thinking of adding to the gallery in the weeks to come by showcasing the works of other artists around town, displaying all kinds of works from paintings to photography and even sculptures.
