Pregnant Marion Cotillard opens up on how THOSE Brad Pitt rumours made her feel

The Dark Knight Rises star found herself caught up in Brad's split from wife Angelina Jolie in September, 2016 amid tabloid claims a secret love affair with the 52-year-old led to the breakdown of the Hollywood superstars' marriage.

The rumour mill went into overdrive as it emerged Marion was pregnant with her second child, and the fervent gossip prompted the typically-private French actress to take to Instagram two days later to silence speculation about an affair and the paternity of her unborn baby.

In her lengthy post, she stated the false claims were spiralling out of control and upsetting her loved ones, including longtime partner Guillaume Canet, the "father of our son and of the baby we are expecting".

Despite issuing a statement to clear up the gossip, Marion, 41, reveals she did not let the rumours get to her.

"I never take anything personally when it doesn't concern me...," she explained on U.S. breakfast show Today. "I had nothing to do with those rumours or situations."

She also insisted the unwanted publicity surrounding the Robert Zemeckis film had no impact on her experience shooting the World War Two spy thriller.

"I don't give energy to this," Marion said. "It was a wonderful, wonderful experience working with such a visionary director and an amazing actor, so that's all that matters, you know?"

Marion's remarks emerge a day after Zemeckis also offered up his thoughts on the tabloid drama, insisting false gossip is just a downside of being a public figure.

"There's not much you can do (about such gossip)," he told Today. "I mean, unfortunately, I think it's part of being a celebrity, but I just give everybody their privacy and try to respect the problems that they're going through."
