Britain's Prince William (31) is trying to "banish dark shadows" from his parents’ divorce by moving his family into Kensington Palace, royal photographer Mark Stewart has said.
The royal and his family – wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and their three-month-old son, Prince George – recently moved into their renovated apartment at Kensington Palace, where the prince spent the happiest part of his childhood. Stewart believes William will be able to recall good times by moving back to the royal residence.
He told Hello! magazine, "I think he [William] is trying to re-create the happiness he enjoyed growing up at Kensington Palace and banishing the dark shadows associated with the break-up of his parents' marriage by installing his own happy family there."
William – whose parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, got divorced in 1996 – is apparently determined to protect his family from public scrutiny and allow his son to have as normal an upbringing as possible. The couple have insisted on having a small household staff at their apartment, 1A, including housekeeper Antonella Fresolone, part-time nanny Jessie Webb and a few media officers and support staff.
