Princess Beatrice recently announced her engagement to beau Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi – but it’s the platinum sparkler approximately worth R1,5 million on her finger that’s got everyone talking, Metro reports.

The 31-year-old royal showed off her 3,5 carat diamond ring in official photographs which were captured by her sister Princess Eugenie and shared onto her Instagram page.

The engagement ring, which was designed by British jeweller Shaun Leane with the assistance of the groom-to-be, is a fusion of Victorian and Art Deco designs, according to the DailyMail.

The ring is also believed to be inspired by the 1930’s. “A sizeable 3-3,5 carats of round brilliant stone, thought to be colourless and flawless,” a jewellery expert explained in The Sun.

Now that’s indeed a ring fit for princess!
