Reese Witherspoon wishes “there were more hours in the day”.
The 38-year-old actress is mother to 15-year-old Ava and ten-year-old Deacon, her children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, as well as son Tennessee, who turns two on Saturday, with husband Jim Toth. And balancing looking after her brood with a successful movie career certainly takes it out of Reese. “You should see my hotel room today. I have a teenage daughter with all her stuff and books and school reports and baby things all over the place,” she said during the interview with Gossip Girl. “I wouldn’t have it any other way. I just wish there were more hours in the day, but somehow it all works out. I like when things are busy, but I also like a day to just chill in my yard with the kids.”

Reese has several exciting movie roles coming up, including Wild and The Good Lie.
In order to prepare for her role in The Good Lie, in which Reese plays a woman who helps African refugees forge a life for themselves in America, the actress travelled to Africa to visit refugee camps there.
And Reese decided to invite her teenage daughter Ava along with her to expand her horizons.
“My daughter is a wonderful, socially conscious girl. But even if a kid has read a million books about a situation, you don’t understand it until you see it yourself,” Reese said.
“She was young to be on one of these trips, but she wanted to go. She didn’t say a word the whole day we left the camp. She really didn’t talk about it until a few days later.”
Reese added that she wanted Ava to come with her in order to gain some perspective on just how lucky she is. And Reese also believes such trips are vital in teaching children the value of life.
“I think travel is the antidote to any selfish behaviour,” she said. “It’s not their fault. We give our kids access to things that disconnect them from other human beings. I think it’s important to put down the electronics and see how the world is great. That’s what I wanted for my daughter.”
