The 28-year-old actor has been dating British singer FKA twigs for the last few months, marking his first serious relationship since he split from his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart last year. Things are going from strength to strength with the pair, but apparently some are worried that Robert isn't thinking with a clear head. "[Friends have told him to] slow down because he is smothering her," an insider told RadarOnline.com. "They are living together full-time, though. It is very serious."
‘He has a tendency to go overboard’
There have been rumours the couple are already engaged, but apparently they aren't true. They have been spending a great deal of time together though, with Robert accompanying FKA twigs when she was playing shows in Europe recently. She is also rumoured to be the inspiration behind his drastic new haircut, which sees a large portion of the back of his head shaved.
The couple seem very close, which is one of the reasons why some of those close to Robert are concerned.
"[He] has a tendency to go overboard. Almost to the point where it pushes girls away," the source claimed.
However, the insider suggests there are signs the couple could go the distance. They have a lot in common, including the way they'd like to live their lives. Rather than obsessing about being seen at the right clubs or filling column inches, both Robert and his girlfriend like to fly under the radar.
In the past, the actor has explained that a situation at a nightclub marked the first time he realised he was a big star.
"I was going to clubs in LA and you had to call the promoters ahead of time to get on the guest list," he told British magazine Esquire.
"But one time I forgot to call, and I was on the list anyway. That's when I knew. I showed up with mustard down my T-shirt and they're like giving me the wink, 'Yeah, man, you're on the list.'"
