Ryan Kwanten's nude scene fails

accreditation

Ryan Kwanten constantly finds himself exposed in nude scenes as the "flesh coloured sock" he has to wear doesn't stay on. The 37-year-old actor stars as Jason Stackhouse in vampire TV show True Blood, which is known for its raunchy scenes. Ryan has shot a good number of those - but things don't always go to plan.

'There really is a skin coloured sock tied in a neat little bow'

"There really is a skin coloured sock tied in a neat little bow," he explained to on Kiis 1065's Kyle & Jackie O radio show. "It doesn't always stay so neat, doesn't stay on, but that's the intention."

Ryan began his career starring in Australian soap opera Home and Away and moved to Hollywood when he decided to try to make it on a more global scale. Initially things didn't work out, and it took him a long while to finally get a big break. He'd been in LA for four years before he won the role of Jason.

"I definitely went through a small struggle period," he said. "But it's one of those professions where the harder you work, the luckier you get."

Now he's more recognisable, Ryan has to deal with rumours circulating about him. A recent one saw people become convinced he'd survived a shark attack, but he reassured fans the story wasn't as dramatic as it seemed. The actor was surfing when he found himself up close and personal with a Wobbegong shark, a species that usually isn't dangerous unless provoked.

"I fell off my board at one point hoping to get the sandbreak but instead [my hand] went straight into a Wobbegong's mouth," he said.

"It was painful but it certainly wasn't a shark attack as you imagine it."

The star was also left red-faced when the interviewers presented him with a magazine cover he'd featured on many years ago. It showed him posing in a pair of skimpy white briefs with angel wings on his back, and Ryan was quick to joke about the image.

"That's photoshopped!" he laughed.
