The 27-year-old Gossip Girl actress revealed the couple were expecting their first child together on her website Preserve in October. Rumours have recently surfaced suggesting the pair are having a little girl, but Ryan claims they have no idea what the tot’s gender is, nor does he care. “I’m just excited about having a buddy,” he told People magazine. “We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away.”

Ryan (38) is trying not to think too much about the trials of being a first-time father.
The Green Lantern star wants to step into the experience with a positive mindset.
“For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don’t want to make,” he noted. “I’m at that stage still where I’m focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error.”
Ryan is also happy to help his other half Blake in any way he can throughout her pregnancy.
And he’s keen on becoming a huge part of diaper duty when the baby arrives.
“I don’t have a weak stomach,” Ryan said. “I’m good with diapers and diarrhea and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews, so I’ve done it all before.”
Ryan and Blake tied the knot in 2012.
