Sam Lutfi insists he’s just trying to help Amanda Bynes. The man who was associated with Britney Spears around the time of her 2008 meltdown has been linked to the 28-year-old actress during her recent troubles. He is succeeding in his mission to help her get her life back on track, according to a piece he wrote on Friday for lifestyle blog xoJane.

“Amanda is a beautiful, amazing and very strong woman who has been through a lot,” Sam stated. “So are Courtney [Love, another of his friends] and Britney. Like me, they are also survivors.”
He claims it was Courtney who encouraged him to share the piece in order to set the story straight about Amanda’s condition and his ties with her. The actress is currently under a psychiatric hold in California after her behaviour became increasingly bizarre over the last month.
In the article, Sam boasts his involvement with Hole singer Courtney’s recovery – she has battled drug addiction - as well as Britney’s and Amanda’s.
“All I can tell you is that Amanda is getting the help that she needs and that I am working closely with her and her family in order to ensure that we can move on from the tabloid sensationalism of her ‘breakdown’ and instead concentrate on what a rare, talented young woman she has always been and continues to be,” Sam wrote.
He describes himself as a “problem solver” who “cares about helping people” because he “loves a good comeback story”.
Sam has been slammed in the past for aligning himself with troubled celebrities.
He was reportedly involved in taking Amanda to the Californian psychiatric hospital under an involuntary hold earlier this month.
A source previously told Radar Online that Amanda was in fact “disgusted” in Sam and was trying to distance herself from him.
That did not appear to be the case on October 10 when she wrote a heartfelt message to the controversial manager on Twitter.

She was placed under a conservatorship order, meaning her parents made all decisions for her. The star appeared to be doing well, but things took a downward spiral after she was arrested for DUI.
