Sarah Hyland ‘wins restraining order against ex’

Sarah Hyland has reportedly won a permanent restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. In September it was revealed a judge ruled the 23-year-old Modern Family actress’ former flame Matthew Prokop (24) must stay at least 100 yards away from her at all times after Hyland accused him of committing domestic violence.

''His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life''

TMZ is now reporting a magistrate issued a permanent restraining order against Prokop on Monday. The website claims the new ruling has complied with all of Hyland’s protection requests.

Prokop must apparently remain 100 yards away from her at all times. He is also restricted from gun ownership and being in possession of ammunition. It’s claimed Prokop has been explicitly ordered not to harm Hyland’s dog, Barkley Bixby, in any fashion, and he can’t be within 100 yards of the animal.

The ruling is said to be in effect for three years into the future.

Neither Hyland nor Prokop had commented on the alleged legal declaration at press time.

TMZ previously reported the actress expressed fear for her life in legal documents, claiming Prokop threatened to "set one of her homes on fire”.

The court papers obtained by the website allegedly went on to state Prokop pinned her against a vehicle and “choked” her during an argument about her outfit.

"His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life,” Hyland is quoted as writing.

The pair met while auditioning for 2008 movie High School Musical 3: Senior Year and started dating in 2009. They appeared in 2011 movie Geek Charming together.

Hyland and Prokop were living together and looked after their joint pet dog Barkley Bixby. The pair were 19 when they began sharing a residence and news of the former couple’s split spread in August of this year.
