As the Everyday Is a Winding Road singer celebrates a cancer-free decade, she has come to appreciate how beating the disease improved her life.
"It really stopped me in my tracks and I really re-evaluated and redefined my life in so many ways," Crow tells Billboard. "It (cancer) informed everything about my life. It informed my decisions, it informed my choices, my art, and the way I live.

"I don’t take anything for granted. I feel like I am much more aware of not sweating the small stuff. My decision making is so much easier than it would have been before. I don’t try to take care of the world like I used to. I absolutely learned how to say no and to put myself first, and that was really my big lesson with my diagnosis."
Now that her mind is no longer flooded with stuff she considers silly, Sheryl is hoping to be of service to others, having recently teamed up with eBay For Charity to auction off more than 100 fashion items from her closet, with 100 per cent of the proceeds benefiting the charity Stand Up To Cancer.
"I live in Nashville now, so there’s not a great reason for me to have a lot of fancy clothes," she smiles while addressing the auction, which concludes on 13 October, 2016. "I’ve got clothes that I’ve had through the years from different events and just different occasions overall."

If fans want to contribute to cancer awareness and research, but are unable to participate in the auction, Sheryl urges them to 'walk the talk' by getting a preventative physical exam.
"The first thing I do is I encourage women over the age of 40 to make sure and be diligent about getting their mammograms," she stresses. "Until there’s a cure, early detection is really our best course for 100 per cent survival rate, and that statistic is really good with early detection."
