Simon Cowell has given his unborn son the nickname “Tad”.
The media mogul is awaiting the birth of his first child with socialite Lauren Silverman, and after seeing the first ultrasound scan he settled on the moniker because his baby looked "like a little tadpole".
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he told entertainment correspondent for Extra and his ex-girlfriend, Terri Seymour ? who was interviewing him in the US ? his son is "a miracle".
He said, "It really is a miracle. The baby was kind of unexpected. I hadn't planned for that. Once I got used to it, I thought, it's actually not such a big deal.
"I called it 'Tad' because it was like a little tadpole ? just, like, moving around."
Simon said in the TV interview he’s "good with kids", but admitted he has no idea "how to hold" a baby.
He added, "Once you see the baby on the scan for the first time you're just amazed that you're seeing something alive. It's incredible.
"Maybe I will take him or her go-karting. I'm good with kids, and I like kids.
"Babies, I have a little problem with because I never know how to hold them. But I like the idea of having a little buddy."
