Simone Battle's death ruled suicide

Simone Battle's death has been ruled as suicide.

The 25-year-old singer was found dead at her LA home on Friday, with a statement released on Saturday confirming the tragic news. Now County Coroner's Lieutenant Fred Corral has said the cause of death was determined on Sunday, and has been ruled as suicide by hanging. Simone rose to prominence as one fifth of American girlgroup G.R.L. after a successful stint on The X Factor USA.

‘We will carry her memory with us in everything we do’

Following her exit from the popular talent competition, the pretty star was recruited by The Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin to join a new girlband.

Simone, along with bandmates Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen, had been enjoying success around the globe before the tragedy struck.

The rest of the group took to the band's Twitter account on Saturday to share their sorrow.

"Words cannot express the depth of our loss. Simone's incredible talent was only surpassed by the size of her heart.

"We will carry her memory with us in everything we do," they stated.

G.R.L. scored their first UK hit yesterday with track Ugly Heart, which ranked at number 11 in the British charts.

Simon Cowell, who worked with Simone on The X Factor, also paid his respects to the late star.

"I am so sad to hear about the news Simone Battle has passed away. She was such a fun nice person. It's such a loss. Rest in peace Simone (sic)," Simon posted on his Twitter account.
