Poor Siya Kolisi! Not only is he licking his wounds after his team the Stormers suffered a 60-21 defeat to the Chiefs in the quarter final of the Super Rugby tournament this past weekend – but he’s also been on the side-line for three months due to an ankle injury. On Tuesday he endured an hour long operation to repair ligaments in his left ankle.
“Op time. Praying for a quick recovery and no crutches for our first dance,” was the caption of photograph of Siya in a hospital bed, which his fiancé Rachel Smith posted to Instagram. The couple who got engaged in December are tying the knot next month. “Each day we are getting more and more excited,” and excited Rachel told us about the upcoming nuptials.

The wedding will take place at the Molenvliet Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. According to Rachel, who is originally from Grahamstown, “It's an amazing wine farm with the most spectacular views.” “My dress and bridesmaids dresses are being designed by Habits Fashion. It's been such a great experience with them. Siya is getting his suit and the groomsmen's suits done by Carducci - he is in good hands.”
The couple live in Cape Town and have a son, Nicholas, who was born in 2014. Siya’s half-siblings Liyema (14) and Liphelo (8) have also been living with them for the past two years. After their mother passed away Siya’s half-brother and sister spent five years in orphanages and foster care before he tracked them down and took them under his wing.
