It’s taken as a fact of life that many older men like young women – but what about a young woman developing romantic feelings for an older man?

That’s exactly what happened recently when 18-year-old Lisa Miller of Scotland asked her beau to marry her. Said beau, Jim Kerr, is 60 years old – old enough to be her grandfather.

Not only that, but Jim used to be the caretaker at Woodfarm High School, which Lisa attended until two years ago.

The district of East Renfrewshire in Scotland is abuzz after news of the unusual relationship emerged – a relationship that was reportedly ignited over a Happy Meal from the local McDonald’s.

After the meal – which she’d bought him for his birthday – they slept together, Lisa told the British tabloid The Sun, adding, “It was my first time but there was no pressure and it was all comfortable.”

The couple say they’ve been together since November. Jim, who left his wife of 36 years for Lisa, also lost his job at the school in March this years after the relationship became known.

But Lisa and Jim say they didn’t know each other in the time that she attended the school and they only met each other last year at a local community centre. They started chatting and it didn’t take long before they fell in love.

Marion Kerr (58) told the Sunday Mail she’s devastated by her husband’s affair. “We have nothing to do with him anymore,” said Jim’s daughter, Allison.

The radio station West FM recorded Lisa’s proposal to Jim and shared the video on social media: “Jim, we’ve been going out for just under a year and I love you so much. I wouldn’t swop you for the word. And, marry me.” To which Jim responds with a smile, “Yeah, definitely.”
