Steenkamps just want the trial to be over

Reeva Steenkamp's uncle, Michael Steenkamp, said the family would be in court on Thursday. "We will all be there to see what is going to happen. Whichever way it goes, the Lord knows exactly what the answer is," he said on Monday. "The family is not doing too good in this anxious period and we are just waiting for this period to end. We leave it in the Lord's hands."

Judge Thokozile Masipa will begin handing down judgement in the High Court in Pretoria on Thursday.

Micheal told Eyewitness News he hasn’t spoken to his brother Barry in a while, but he has been asked to join him and June in court to hear the verdict.

Barry attended proceedings for the first time last month when closing arguments were presented.

Pistorius is charged with murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day last year.

He shot her through the locked door of his toilet at his Pretoria home.

Pistorius has denied guilt, saying he thought she was an intruder about to open the door and attack him. The State contends he shot her during an argument and it was premeditated.
