Sue Duminy: Our second anniversary

I woke up recently with a huge smile on my face and a song in my heart as JP and I have been married for two years! It feels like forever, but my mom says, “Wait until you’ve been married 35 years!”

That really sounds like spending a lifetime together but for me the biggest blessing is if you can spend it with the man you love and respect.

Two years ago we were married in the most beautiful old building in Paarl on a cold but sunny winter afternoon. The church was packed with people who’d come from all corners of the world to share our special day.

We stood there and made our promises before God to honour, respect and care for each other in good times and bad, and to protect and love each other until death us parts.

Every day we love each other more and become more attached to each other. Just when you think you can’t possibly love someone more the feeling just becomes warmer and stronger and the love bubbles up from a fountain inside you.

Here’s a short video clip of our special day two years ago.

I would also just like to say well done to India for winning the ICC Champions trophy. Virat (Kohli), rather leave the Gangnam Style to Chris Gayle (bottom). And congrats to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the birth of their daughter, North West. In South Africa she’ll be called Mafikeng. See this interesting piece of info I found . . . Can you spot the proud dad’s name? And lastly, take care, Madiba! We’re praying for you, tata!
