Taylor Swift’s famous friends like her for who she actually is.
The 24-year-old singer opened up about her circle of pals during an interview with People magazine’s 40th anniversary issue.
And Taylor, who counts Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Jaime King and Lorde among her closest confidantes, said she considers her friendships to be the most important factor in her life. “My group of friends are the most important thing to me right now,” Taylor said. "They are so fun and know me and like me for who I actually am. It's really wonderful to have someone like Lena Dunham in my life. We have the same responsibility and the same pressure that's on you when you write every single word you end up performing."

Taylor and each of her friends have different relationships. And while Taylor can “geek out over music” with 17-year-old Lorde and “play each other new music we’ve written”, her nights with Jaime see the pair chatting or ordering takeout.
Taylor also revealed that it’s all of her friends’ abilities to separate themselves from the celebrity lifestyles that they have in common.
“They aren't really much for going out to bars or clubs or anything," Taylor said. "They're not really as interested in that, and I'm not either, so it works out pretty well."
Taylor’s quotes come as the singer teased fans with the upcoming release of a new track Out of the Woods.
She posted a shot on Instagram with the caption: “5 days. #1989.”
The track is from Taylor’s album 1989 and is rumoured to be inspired by her relationship with One Direction’s Harry Styles.
