'Thank the Lord I survived': Yvonne Chaka Chaka thanks fans for their support after almost getting caught in shootout


Yvonne Chaka Chaka refuses to comment further yesterday revealing that she almost found herself caught in the crosshairs of a police shootout. The singer and humanitarian was within range of a blazing gun-battle between police and hijackers in Centurion on Tuesday afternoon. "Wow this is what I survived Thank u Lord," she captioned a photo of the crime scene on Twitter.

According to provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, three suspects had hijakced a Mercedes Benz panel van in Centurion when they were involved in a shoot-out with the police, who had been chasing them.

"Two suspects were shot, one died at the scene and another was wounded and airlifted to the hospital." Dlamini went on to reveal a third suspect was on the run after escaping. Police also found two firearms, a pistol and R4 rifle on the scene.

Once the fear had subsided, Yvonne thanked her concerned followers and expressed gratitude at having not been caught in the firing line.
