In this week’s episode the tables are turned in the Top Chef SA kitchen when judges Neil Anthony and Lesego Semenya each cook a delectable dish for the cheftestants.
The atmosphere is light-hearted between the judges and cheftestants, but that quickly changes when the Elimination Challenge is revealed.

Tempers flare between two cheftestants when there’s a mix-up between their half-made meals. Some of the cheftestants come under fire for poor time management.
Meanwhile guest judge Jonathan Boynton-Lee of Top Billing fame oozes charm in his role at the Judge’ Table. Having eaten in some of the world’s top restaurants in the course of his television presenting career, Jonathan tells the cheftestants he likes to think of a meal as an experience. He joins Neill, Lesego and Lorna Maseko at the Judges’ Table.

Last week Lebogang Mpuang, a Gauteng-based chef and food consultant, didn’t make the cut after neither one of her high tea dishes impressed the judges. She became the fourth cheftestant voted off the show.
The ten chefs remaining in the competition are: Devin Gregory Hogan, head chef and owner at SMAK Delicatessen and Restaurant in Cape Town; Annemarie Robertson, executive chef at Burrata, Bocca & Open Door in Constantia; Hezron Louw, co-owner and chef at the Sumting Fresh Food Bus and Gourmet Street Food Company; Martine Christian, executive chef at Escondido Tapas in Johannesburg; Themba Tebogo Bawuti, sous chef at La Mouette in Cape Town; Ayabonga Gope from The Deckhouse in Cape Town; Sachin Gosai, head chef at The National in Parktown North, Johannesburg; Phillip Nel, chef de partie at Rust en Vrede in Stellenbosch; Kim Crystal Clement, owner of Urban Eatery and Central Pizza in Pretoria and Linda Nirina Mazibuko, co-owner of Blackcurrant Food Concepts, an events and catering company as well as a food consulting and training company.
