This week's winning letter

accreditation

Let’s put seniors in jail and criminals in nursing homes. This would correct two things in one go.

Seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and walks. They would receive free dental and medical treatment. They would have constant video monitoring so they would be helped instantly if they needed assistance.

Their bedding would be washed twice a week and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them. All meals and snacks would be supplied to them and they would have access to a library, fitness room and spiritual counselling as well as television and a telephone.

As for the criminals: they would receive cold food. They would be left alone and unsupervised. They would be able to have showers once a week.

They would live in tiny rooms for which they’d have to pay R5 000 a month. And they would have no hope of getting out.

Sounds like justice to me.
