T.I. talks Snoop, Iggy feud

T.I. insists he “didn’t make” Snoop Dogg apologise to Iggy Azalea. The Gin & Juice rapper and hip-hop newcomer Iggy were at the centre of scandal last week as they traded barbs online, with Iggy calling Snoop an a*s after he posted an offensive meme. Snoop later apologised on Instagram, writing that he was able to smooth things over after a conversation with longtime friend T.I., who signed Iggy to his record label imprint Grand Hustle in 2012.

'I didn’t make Snoop do anything'

But the Atlanta-based rapper insists he didn’t pressure Snoop into penning an apology.

“I didn’t make Snoop do anything,” he told MTV News.

“I stepped in when it became a public topic of discussion. When it stopped being between two people and it was being observed by the world, and it was almost like people were tuning in just to see what was happening next,” he insisted.

T.I. added he has the utmost respect for the West Coast rapper. He credits Snoop with paving the way for his own success and wants to make sure that comes across.

“Me and Snoop have a long-standing personal and professional relationship,” he said. “I have a huge amount of admiration, love and respect for him and for what he’s done for the game - for people like me to be able to do what we do - and when I called him it was a very, very, very cordial, respectful [conversation].

“He immediately said he knew what I was calling about and just assured me [that it was] nothing to even worry about. It’s over with. And we started talking about something else immediately.”
