The 48-year-old actress tied the knot with French actor Olivier Martinez last year and the couple share son Maceo. Halle is also a mom to daughter Nahla from her relationship with ex Gabriel Aubry (39) who she is currently embroiled in a bitter dispute with. This began with a custody battle when she tried to move their little girl to France in 2012, but a judge ordered her to stay in the US and pay $16,000 in child support a month.
'It's been difficult to spend time together'
She is thought to have recently filed legal documents requesting the fee to be lowered and this ongoing argument is said to have put a strain on her marriage to Olivier.
"Olivier's spent a lot of time filming in New York while Halle's been in LA, so it's been difficult to spend time together," a source told British magazine Closer. "The rows with Gabriel bring Halle down and she's struggling to focus on Olivier. She wants to make the marriage work, but the atmosphere between them is tense. Olivier feels like she sometimes doesn't give him her full attention."
Gabriel and Olivier got into a violent brawl two years ago, leaving the actress' ex with noticeable scars on his face. It's because of these that he is said to not be getting work as a model, but Halle reportedly doesn't agree.
"Halle had numerous battles with Gabriel but this one is the last straw for her. She thinks he's living off her hard-earned cash and it's making her furious," the insider added. "She would rather get him out of her life for good, but she knows he's Nahla's dad and her daughter stays her number-one priority."
