‘We miss you already’: Daughter of Spier murder victim posts heartrending video tribute

One of Susan Rohde's daughters has shared a short video tribute to her mom on her Instagram account. “You always are and always will be in my thoughts, loser. We miss you already,” Kate wrote. The beautiful tribute shows a doting mom who loved to laugh and have fun with her daughters.

The video was shared on Instagram about two weeks ago and many of Kate’s followers and friends have commented on it, sending their good wishes and pictures of hearts.

“Now that was your mom and my aunt that I remember,” one said.

“So beautiful Kate just like I will always remember your beautiful mom sending so much love to you all, she will be so missed,” another wrote said.

“Such a happy and vibrant soul!” was another supportive comment.

Susan was the wife of Jason Rohde (47), chief executive officer of Sotheby’s International Realty in South Africa. On 24 July she was found dead in their hotel room at the Spier Wine Estate near Cape Town.

On Saturday 23 July the couple attended a Sotheby’s conference and were to have returned to Johannesburg on the Sunday.

Initially it was thought Susan had committed suicide. She was found behind the bathroom door, hanging from an electrical cord.

According to police spokesman Captain Frederick van Wyk the initial inquest was changed to a murder investigation on 4 August after the postmortem had been done.
