What do you think of Whatsapp's new 'blue tick' function?

accreditation

Whatsapp has a new function, where two blue ticks show whether a message has been read. Reactions from users have been mixed, with many protesting that it'll end relationships.

Whatsapp's Support Team has released an image explaining what the various ticks mean:

whatsapp If someone doesn't open the app to read your message, it won't show up as read. The blue ticks will only show if the Whatsapp user has the latest version of the software. But perhaps it would have worked better as an optional feature – some users aren’t impressed with the addition.

WhatsApp is the most popular messaging service in the world, with 600 million users. Facebook bought Whatsapp for $19 billion.
