Woman tapes ridiculous note to her door, tips police off that she's actually a drug dealer

This drug dealer was clearly just trying to be cautious.

So a bright pink note plastered to her door warning any visitors they'd be subject to a body search upon entry ? to avoid snitches ? might not have been the cleverest thing to do.

When the Fayette County Sheriff's Department in West Virginia, USA, were called out to investigate a joyriding [racing in a stolen car] complaint, Mashable reports, they spotted the over-zealous note on April Lynn Lavender's door.

"Due to snitches everyone entering my home is subject to being searched," the note read. "All cellphones and drinks will be left outside!! If you're not a snitch, it won't offend you if I search you!"

This subtle clue lead officers to believe 38-year-old Lavender was up to something, and they obtained a warrant to search her home.

"In addition to conducting their investigation into the joyriding complaint, deputies questioned the occupants about drug sales and obtained consent to search the residence," the department shared on Facebook.

"This search resulted in the seizure of quantities of both heroin and methamphetamine, as well as various other unknown substances that were believed to be narcotics."

Lavender was arrested and eventually released on $10 000 (R139 000) bail.

As one commenter wrote on the police's Facebook page, "That's a special kind of stupid!"
