accreditation

The world's oldest person has died at the age of 116.

Jiroemon Kimura, who lived in Kyoto, Japan, passed away earlier today in hospital, where he’s been since last month when he was admitted for pneumonia.

The elderly man ? who’s survived by seven children, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren ? had previously been learning English to help keep his mind healthy, and linked his long life to being out in the sun.

He said, "I am always looking up towards the sky. That is how I am."

Bizarrely, the oldest living woman ? Misao Okawa, who is 115 years old ? is also from the city of Kyoto in Japan.
