Young doctor stabbed 11 times by obsessed ex she met on Tinder

A young medical doctor from Australia was just doing what thousands of other single women do every day – but it almost cost her life.

28-year-old Angela Jay was browsing through the dating app Tinder when she came across a picture of a handsome man. She immediately swiped right on her cellphone because Paul Dennis Lambert (36) seemed like the perfect date.

By the time she realised that he was in fact a psychopath and obsessive stalker, it was too late.

Last week the financial advisor attacked her with a knife. He was planning on raping her, douse her body in petrol and then set her alight. She managed to escape, but the shocking series events ended in a bloodbath when police shot and killed Paul…

Everything started about nine weeks ago when Angela and Paul found each other on Tinder and went on various dates. However, Paul fell head over heels in love with Angela while she lost interest and cut all ties with him.

Paul didn’t take this very well and harassed her with constant messages and threats. In one of the messages he said: “I need you to understand this is my good side right now. The good side won’t last long. Especially being rejected.”

In another messages he warned her that she wasn’t safe in her house. “I have some of the house keys,” he threatened her. Angela got a protective order against, but the police couldn’t track him down to serve him with the order. Last Thursday she arrived home after a long shift at the hospital in the Australian town of Port Macquarie, where she works as a gynaecologist. But Angela wouldn’t get the peaceful evening that she was hoping for because Paul had earlier broken into her house and hidden himself inside a clothing cupboard.

His gruesome plan was already worked out: he was going to attack and overpower her, undress her and tie her to the bed then rape her. His revenge on Angela would go even further, after the rape Paul planned on setting Angela alight.

When she entered the room, Paul stabbed 11 times with a knife. Luckily Angela’s neighbour, Steve Willdern, heard her screaming from his house next door.

“I will never forget those screams as long as I live,” recalls Steve. “They were guttural, like something out of a horror movie.” Armed with a steel pipe he came to her rescue, causing Paul to flee.

He took the badly wounded Angela to his house where she explained to him what to do in order to stop the bleeding until emergency services arrived.

“When I got to her she was full of terror and bleeding from her gut, arms and legs.” Steve and his daughter Amy tore up sheets and towels to stop the bleeding.

After Paul fled the scene, he was found by police three hours later, about 150 km from the scene after a wild chase. He didn’t hand himself over but rather charged at police with a knife in his hand. He was shot and killed on the scene.
