Zoe Saldana can't be apart from husband for more than a week

The Star Trek Beyond beauty wed Italian artist Marco in the summer of 2013, and the mother-of-twins credits their promise to limit their time apart with helping to keep their romance alive, especially since Zoe is often working away from home. "If we're (filming) on location, my husband will be with us for 10 days and then he'll fly back for four, but we can't be more than one week away from each other," she tells People.com. "That's a promise we've made that we're trying to keep." Their vow, which isn't unusual in Hollywood, has become all the more important since becoming parents to boys Bowie and Cy, 20 months, as they work together to juggle their careers with their home lives - with a little extra help.

Despite having around-the-clock childcare, Zoe skipped a lot of the off-set bonding time with her co-stars from the latest Star Trek movie, because she was always eager to rush home to her babies.

I had just gotten over breastfeeding and I just couldn't come out every evening after shooting and having dinner. "These are sacrifices that you make and you have to make them willingly, but you also have to be disciplined and determined."

And while Zoe loves being a mum, there are a few aspects of her former life she does miss: "Every other day I wanted to drink a bottle of wine and pass out like I used to - watching, like, investigative shows. I can't do that (now)."
