He’s kept a low profile following the death of his wife, Kelly Preston, last year.
But John Travolta recently delighted fans when he shared a family snap on social media to mark his son’s birthday.
“Happy birthday, my beautiful boy. Your dad adores you,” the 67-year-old actor captioned the picture of himself, daughter Ella (21) and son Benjamin (11).
Ella followed suit with her own birthday shout out.
“Happy birthday, Benjamin. The sweetest boy I know,” she said on social media. “You continue to teach me so much and brighten our lives. I love you!”
John has always been a hands-on dad, but the trio became even closer after Kelly’s passing.
The Gotti actress died in July 2020 aged 57 after a two-year battle with breast cancer.
Kelly, who was married to John for 29 years, passed away in his arms.
Though it’s been difficult dealing with her loss, the star hasn’t shied away from wearing his heart on his sleeve.
Last month the Pulp Fiction actor shared a birthday message for his late wife on what would’ve been her 58th birthday.
“Happy Birthday, Kelly. We miss and love you very much,” he said in the heartfelt post.
The two-time Oscar nominee also paid tribute to his late wife on Mother’s Day earlier this year.
“Dearest Kelly, you brought into my life three of the most wonderful children I’ve ever known. Thank you. We love and miss you. Happy Mother’s Day,” read the post.
John included pictures of their family of four and another of him and Kelly with their late first-born son, Jett.
Jett, who was autistic, was only 16 when he died after suffering a seizure during a family vacation in the Bahamas in 2009.
Apart from losing his son and wife, John recently had to deal with another death in the family.
A few months after Kelly’s death, he also lost his nephew Sam Travolta Jnr (52), whom he was close to.
The Fanatic actor has slowly been picking up the pieces and now spends most of his time doting on his two kids.
Meanwhile, Ella is following in her parents’ footsteps – she’s set to appear in the upcoming film Get Lost.
Earlier this year she opened up about her mother’s last film, Off the Rails, and how much Kelly enjoyed working on it.
“I’m proud of my mother’s last film, and I know she was too,” Ella said.
“She very much enjoyed the time she had making this wonderful picture and all of the lovely people she got to work with.”
