The star was diagnosed with lymphoma in October, but has been keeping a positive outlook and updating his fans regularly on social media.
And Jeff Bridges’ recent post was a real cause for celebration. His cancerous tumour has “drastically shrunk” following ongoing treatment, the 71-year-old veteran actor announced.
“I came home elated with the news,” he added.
The Big Lebowski star is also looking forward to the new year – despite its obvious challenges – and is counting his blessings.
“May we dream together of the kind of world we’d like to live in & make these dreams come true through our actions. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!” he wrote alongside a photo of himself and his wife, Susan, in matching red pyjamas holding their puppy, Monty.
“Here’s a plan for the New Year . . . for always . . . Let the gratefulness overflow into blessing all around you,” he added.
He also included a cartoon of himself with the words, “Wanted to sing you guys a tune & some other stuff to check out.”
Jeff has also been keeping busy with some of his favourite pursuits, such as music and art.
To help get him through “what’s going on in the world”, as he puts it, he’s adopted the mantra of “Be Love” from his art mentor, American artist Rozzell Sykes.
And why not? Love does make the world go around.
